Bogor (9/28) – Competing in one of the most prestigious racing events in Indonesia, namely the 3rd Series of Indonesia Touring Car Race (ITCR) on Sunday (26/9) at the Sentul International Circuit, Bogor, Toyota Team Indonesia (TTI) driver Haridarma Manoppo #39 who using the Toyota Yaris managed to reach the 1st podium at the ITCR Max. Meanwhile, the young Jordan Johan #9, who just joined TTI in the 2021 season to compete in the ITCR 1,200, was also able to prove his talent by pushing the Toyota Agya to reach the 1st podium.
“We congratulate all the drivers and the TTI team for the good results achieved in this 3rd series. Thank you for your enthusiasm and efforts in realizing the Kaizen spirit or continuous improvement so that you can achieve better results than before. With the basic performance of the Toyota Yaris and Toyota Agya which are capable and supported by the strong determination of the drivers and members of the TTI team, we are optimistic that TTI can win the national championship title again in the 2021 season, both in the ITCR Max and ITCR 1,200 national championships,” said Marketing Director of PT. As one of the teams that is consistent in maintaining performance in the national racing event, Toyota Team Indonesia (TTI) is ready to score again in the ITCR national championship in the 2021 season by fielding three of its drivers, namely Haridarma Monoppo and Demas Agil who use the Toyota Yaris in the ITCR Max. and Jordan Johan at ITCR 1,200 with Toyota Agya.
The good results achieved in the 3rd series are not only an improvement from the previous two series, but also open up opportunities for TTI drivers and teams to be able to win national titles in the 2021 season in both the ITCR Max and ITCR 1,200 national championships.
Currently Haridarma has pocketed a total of 39 points with a difference of only 5 points from the leader of the ITCR Max standings. Furthermore, in the same standings, Demas was also able to secure the 3rd position with a total of 10 points. While Jordan managed to collect a total of 33 points which is only 4 points adrift from the top of the ITCR 1,200 standings.
Starting the race from 2nd position after the qualifying round on the previous day managed to record a time of 1:49,443, Haridarma was able to maximize the performance of the Toyota Yaris to pass the opponent in front of him to finish as a winner. Haridarma admitted that the performance of the Toyota Yaris that was driven by him had an important role in smoothing his efforts to top the podium. He also expressed his gratitude because the TTI team was able to find the best setting for the Toyota Yaris he was using.
“It feels great to be able to get back to the 1st podium in the 3rd series of ITCR Max after being runner-up in the previous race. Thank you for the hard work of the team in finding the best settings for the Toyota Yaris that I use, so the Yaris which has a very strong base performance can support me to stay focused on achieving the leading position throughout the race. In the future, we will continue to make continuous improvements to achieve even better results, so that we can increase our chances of becoming national champions,” said TTI racer with car number 39, Haridarma Manoppo.
In line with his teammates, Jordan also expressed his gratitude for being able to reach the 1st podium at ITCR 1,200 with the TTI team in this 2021 season.
“Thank you for the continued support from the TTI and Toyota teams since the start of the season. It feels great to be part of the TTI team in reaching the 1st podium at ITCR 1,200 in this 3rd series. Thanks to the hard work of the team, the Toyota Agya, which has good basic performance, can be maximized so that I can push Agya and lead the race. As Mr. Hari has said, our passion for achieving the best results will not stop here. Next, we will strengthen our commitment to continue to improve our skills and the performance of the cars we use with the main goal of winning the national title in ITCR Max and ITCR 1,200,” said TTI racer with car number 9, Jordan Johan.
According to Fumitaka Kawashima as marketing director of PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM), activities in racing are not only a place to show performance. More than that, it is a learning place for teams and drivers to be better, including providing input to manufacturers to improve vehicle performance from very tight racing events.“What is achieved in this third series is a combination of what we got in the previous two series, even from previous years. Teams and drivers give each other input, evaluation and improvement points that can provide progress.
